Another popular approach was the use of spheres and prims, often untextured, to create figures and organic objects. This look evoked plastic or vinyl, and evoked bright and poppy energy along the lines of the more "bubblegum" side of y2k.

Much y2k 3DCG focused on abstraction - spheres, metaballs, simple shapes with focus on material - in a way that incorporated y2k colors and shapes. Water was a popular focus - fluid, cool, and blue - and evoked ideas of the "digital sea" of cyberspace.

Hi! Thanks for the thread 🥰

I'm Nic, a self taught digital artist who loves sci fi and atmospheric atmospheres. I sometimes do traditional art too, usually with Promarkers. I start my art degree next month!

Forgot to make some updates on this guy. Fixed some errors I made while making the body with ZSpheres, like how the legs were too short and that some areas were too thin.
Still needs work, but it's better than before.

Painting study 6/30: Zdzislaw Beksinski

One of my favourite painters, tho his style is so different to mine. This time I didn't pick him for his brushwork, as I did for the others, but because of his use of heavy atmospheres.

ZSpheres are fun. I will flesh out this big boy and have him ready to hit the beaches this summer!

Post lunch warm up! This could be a new playground thing for the next days.
Thinking of a re-telling of the Cinderella fairy tale where cinder and fire have a central role. It was probably done before but mweh! I am interested in playing with designs and atmospheres so whatever.
