The Sequel Trilogy & the reactions to it have made me think so much more about Campbell's constant argument throughout Occidental Mythology. He brings this up again and again. ST but specifically TLJ hate is coming from something beyond the depths that most can see IMO...

Tonight the topic was "egyptian", and obviously I had to research mythology. Renenutet is the goddess of agriculture and prosperity, also related to magic imbued on linen worn. She was also the deity of fate, being able to see the lenght of the life of a person.

My absolute favorite part of working on Monsters of the Old World was writing Loki's children from Norse mythology. Hel, Jormungandr, Fenris, and Sleipnir all appear in this book and I'm so stoked about the final result!

An unnamed squirrel like creature OC.
This monster travels at blinding speeds and leaves jolts of electricity behind it.
It is one of the few monsters I've made that is directly based on a myth, being Ratatoskr from Norse mythology.

Flying/Poison. Colour scheme is based off of Zhenniao, a poisonous bird from Chinese mythology. The poison in the birds is from them eating viper heads apparently, which is pretty metal.
