ww1 gellert. here he gained the alias The Necromancer...
unlike the reluctant british, wizarding germany conscripted all of its citizens to defend its land because muggles were destroying EVERYTHING. gellert got away with some hella dark magic here.

One of my favourite photos and a great reminder that the war was not only fought by young men. This portrait of an unknown boer war veteran, taken in 1915 was one of more than 100 saved from a skip and donated to a few years back. A proper old warhorse.

Here is my process of making the LMG Hel Guard. I feel like I could’ve gone with a more unique design by adding more steampunk and Nordic elements to him because this design looks a bit too much like a generic WW1 soldier.

Looking forward to seeing the travelling exhibition "Fra dåre til patient" about war neurosis amongst Danish veterans of the First World War. Check the link to see where it is and when. It tours until September.

aren’t the first royals to step away from the family. Circumstances were very different, but Edward VIII (who during was busy having an affair with a French courtesan) abdicated from being King in 1936 so he could marry divorced American Wallis Simpson!

Northern Irish sculptor Anne Acheson (1882-1962) and British sculptor Elinor Hallé (1856-1926), using their knowledge of anatomy, jointly devised the idea of creating plaster casts for broken limbs during WW1. Before that broken limbs often meant permanent disabilities

Robert Weston looking smart in what appears to be a newly issued tropical KD uniform in this era portrait. Good-conduct badge on his sleeve signifying, I think, between 2 & 4 years good service. I'm afraid pugaree flashes are a closed book to me; so I don't know his regiment

Here is my process of drawing Hel. The more I look at her she looks a bit too much like a Victorian vampire hunter than a WW1 themed dictator.

As a tunnelling geek I found it pretty amazing so see so many open system entrances dotted up and down the French sector of the Western Front. Due to the disagreeable prospect of death I didn't go down any this time, but would love to come back again to have a look.
