My preference for stylization over photorealism can be summed up with this. I way prefer the work of Frank Frazetta to Boris Vallejo. Vallejo is very skilled, but his paintings often feel like models posing. Frazetta KEEPS YOU IN THE MOMENT. They're snapshots from another world!

I forgot to post this last month. Drawn for for their birthday. I rarely draw realistic portraits for others beyond close family members, so this was really fun to do.

For the head of Jesus, Moné Sisoukraj referenced also renaissance and baroque sculpture. Polychrome wood especially was an inspiration. We felt it was important for the impact of the piece to avoid photorealism and tap into the power of the synthetic image instead.

Been enjoying spending a lot of time doing studies with my tablet, something I had always enjoyed doing when I was younger , (plus makes it so easy to develop ideas, especially when one can make something transparent and study. ) but as much as i like the intense photorealism

Ah heck it I’ve been following you this entire time and haven’t really joined in on the fun.

This be my art, am very happy with how I get closer to photorealism with every painting. I plan to keep learning and practicing. ;3

FROM RUSSIA & GERMANY: There are portraits, and then there are portraits by Alexej von Jawlensky. Photorealism doesn’t do it for us: the perfect recreations on the canvas come in bold, unexpected colors and brave expressionist strokes.

This guy is THE guy in AEW. I just had to draw a hyper-realistic picture of him because he's my absolute favorite.
