I've got to try the Speccy version. It looks like it was quite well done. I'm only tried it on C64 and Amstrad so far. 🤔

Dan Dare

I was always a big fan of arcade adventures and this is one of the C64’s best. Beautiful, colourful cartoon graphics, a wonderful comic-book atmosphere, plenty of humour and varied & absorbing gameplay make Dan Dare a fantastic game.

It was obviously a C64 take on Karate Champ at the arcade. But that had quite basic, cartoon-y graphics. The characters and backgrounds in Exploding Fist seemed 'realistic'. Like a whole step up from that. Very rare to see something that looked better than its arcade counterpart.

Before we had our C64, this game was on demo at the town computer shop, it seemed like forever.

The swimming and running events are kinda forgettable. But, for me, the pole-vault, diving, and skeet shoot work really well. 👍
