Another simply painted landscape, depicting an exceptionally severe winter. Out of all of the paintings, this one lacks the areas of intense color, adding to the sense of cold and dreary weather. The busy strokes in the foreground trees add a sense of depth to the piece.

Weather Loach Man
I’ve always heard weather loaches grow restless when a storm is coming. It’s predictions are due to its swim bladder being affected by low pressures. Wouldn’t it be funny if there was an Obakemono version of it that can accurately predict weather.

The Longwang is a type of Chinese dragon that rules over the water and weather. I came up with the design after learning about the various animals the Longwang is comprised of.

The floor of the woodland is littered with discarded hazelnuts while up above the squirrels rush this way & that feeding themselves up for cold weather. The ancient coppiced Hazel woods provide five-star habitat for squirrels and hopefully dormice.
