The A and B buttons don't match Nintendo or Xbox.

The colors DO match the Super Famicom/European SNES, though, but with Yellow being called Orange

Mappy Land feels more "back-to-basics" and was the only Mappy to be released in the US back in the day. I guess Namco thought their first sequel, "Hopping Mappy", was too different for a Famicom port, a game where the cop mouse and cat gang are on pogo sticks collecting charms.
