朝倉貞景（1473-1512）が創建したお堂です（現在のお堂は寛永期の再建）。貞景は応仁の乱で焼けた清水寺の復興に多額の寄付をしています。
堂内には清水寺の鎮守である地主神社の本地仏・普賢菩薩像が、神仏分離以降遷座されているとのこと。見てみたい…
