in 1356 Battle of Poitiers. Archibald Douglas & his Cousin William 1st Earl of Douglas fought for the French King John against the Auld Enemy. Although captured along with King John, Archibald pretended to be a Cook's boy dressed in his Master's armour to escape ransom.
