Neanderthals are our closest extinct human relative. They had big brains, large muscles, and great hearts. They were able to control fire, use tools, and they took care of each other, including burying their dead — which is how we know so much about them.

Little watercolor scene I did recently of some Neanderthals

I was blessed with this sight twice today on transit. Even Neanderthals would be disappointed. Don't be dumb....its not rocket science. Remember that the precautions you take or lack their of may translate to irreversible consequences for others.

Well they're not fossils, but we've already got a mammoth, and those things only went extinct 3700 years ago. At this rate, there'll be human-based Fossil Pokemon a few generations from now lol. Now that I think about it, a Neanderthal Pokemon would actually be pretty awesome.

It would be interesting. I know my 23&me DNA test says that 221 out of the 7,462 DNA variants tested for are neanderthal. They say it’s higher than typical. 🤷‍♀️

I’d donate to the cause.

He also doesn't really talk about how Neanderthals, Denisovans, and other archaic humans factor into this either. All the dozens of different species and subspecies of humans bumping around the Earth during prehistory really messes up the Young Earth creationism model a ton.

Me when I discover I have traces of Neanderthal dna through testing, but my parents think it's bullshit.

Was burial of the dead practiced by Neandertals or is it an innovation to our species?
There are indications in favour of the first hypothesis:

in 1908, Boule presented his study on the specimen known as the La Chapelle Neanderthal to Académie des Sciences. He argued that Neanderthals were a separate, extinct species of human relative.

(This is a thread now) another misguided candidate for the Squatch is the Neanderthal, and most likely most other members of genus homo. The evidence for both of them (anatomical and anecdotal) would not suggest a strong link between them. I doubt Bigfoot is within our genus.

New research using 3-D maps created of joints in five Neanderthal hand and wrist remains suggests that Neanderthal thumbs may have been better suited to squeezing grips than those of modern humans.

Dinosaur!!
Primal is a short run animated series by Genndy Tartakovsky who directed the 2D animated Clone Wars series!

It's about a neanderthal man and his T-rex mommy best buddy and their adventures around a prehistoric world! It's absolutely beautiful, but also very violent 😅
