13 Dec 1776 Basking Ridge, NJ. Gen Charles Lee overnights at White’s Tavern, 14 miles from his troops. Loyalists inform the British who dispatch a troop of 16th Light Dragoons led by Col Harcourt & Capt. Tarleton, who seize Lee after a short scuffle.

3 Dec 1773 Charleston’s first "tea party" took place 13 days before the more famous one in Boston. Charlestonians called a meeting and agreed not to purchase the tea. They unloaded it &stored it in the Exchange building vice dumping it into the harbor.

26 Nov 1776 the body of Peyton Randolph arrives @ Williamsburg, VA, for re-interment at his alma mater, College of William & Mary. Randolph died on October 22, 1775, at the age of 54, while in Phila representing Virginia in the 2nd Continental Congress.
