Some practicing today. Need to do more armour studies. I also need to work on not letting my mind making everything high-contrast, high-saturation. Dialed down the saturation of the reds as they were unnaturally popping!

Guys take a look at this piece I made. What i did was lowered Saturation.
I always liked muted colors and a number of Japanese artists use them very well. Or maybe they just know how to give the illusion of desaturation. Pair that with some sketchy linework and paint and you have my art heart.

10a: Go back to my Mid layer and use Ctrl+U to change hue/saturation. Click colorize and use sliders to find a tone you like. Do the same for Black and White layers. Made a new layer on top set to overlay with low opacity, using a soft brush with black and white to enhance form.
And here's a second version...I'm not sure which I like best! For this I just played with hue and saturation.
