I like squeezing in little areas of detail in my line work, whether that be hatching or a dry brush-ish texture

Brief OoO day pt2. Hatching is a lot of fun and I should do it more lmao.
I also may or may not have finished enough basework for CPG stuff that I'll have to do 2 posts tomorrow. :0

This one! got it done while talking with a friend over zoom. Something about handling the forms with sketching and hatching - along with mixing soft forms with hard hatching just clicked in my head.

For a challenge, I tried not using the most remarkable tropes of my art style:
-No buff lines
-No small noses
-No
-Actual painting and shading
-No freaky stuff
-No hatching
-No spikes
It was quite a rigorous thing to do haha, maybe not a good result but I had fun

Also for punchier flames, this sort of hatching effect - this is an effect I had TRIED to approach for Ruby in my AATR entries but I definitely hadn’t mastered it, could probably do better now! But it helps convey more of a force behind the fire, I think!

Prefer the first one but my fingers said no with hatching.

Two contrasting pieces about fear, survival and the demonic urge to consume the weak. Digital art and crosshatching in a sketchbook respectively.
