Manga artist George Akiyama passed away at the age of 77. He is well known for his comedies and social satire, and published a manga version of the Bible. R.I.P.

Keeping this Verhoeven thing going with a visit to my good buddy RobertCop. Not just great satire, but also badass action movie that's one of the best ever made.

Haven't seen this in at least 20 years and back then all of the satire really flew right over my head. A fantastic send-up of ooh-ra military bullshit and a great spiritual successor to RoboCop. This movie pretty much rules.
