All I did is just make a long stroke then add some squiggly/zig zag lines on the end and on some part around it!. Would recommend using textured brushes for better effect

Hatching is an avenue for shading with, but also great establishing texture. It’s also not exclusive to being used with ink or anything, you can use it with other media. Our eyes translate the lines into values. Cross hatching is the crossing of lines. Contour is curving lines

The one I really liked in this group was as it was getting many of the elements I was after: some realistic features like the captivating eyes, and also the lovely patterns and textures on the skin, plus some subtle depth of field
