Toriyama's Illustration for the 1987 Dragon Ball Calendar within WSJ No. 5 (1986/12/19) — As expected, Son Goku climbs up No. 1 for New Years "January"!
one of the last things I did last year was to read Akira Toriyama's Manga Theater, its a fun collection of shorter stories he did spanning a good chunk of his career. One of the stories is like a pilot for Dragon Ball. Go Go Ackman was a story i was interested in reading

The Timelapse ✨ a great example of Toriyama's fifth law of illustration dynamics: always make them a little more beef ✨💪

Chrono Trigger's style is so raw frr, and this is coming from someone who hasn't seen much else of Toriyama's other work lol
Toriyama fans! Akira Toriyama's Manga Theater has just been added to the Shonen Jump Vault! You can read every chapter in the collection on there right now! - https://t.co/X8S18JMgRy
The original Dragon Quest (FC, 1986) was localized for Western audiences as Dragon Warrior (NES, 1989). The game's box art was also changed, swapping Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama's colorful designs for a classic high fantasy appearance. #GameHistoryDaily

Toriyama's cover for Dragon Ball's 431st chapter in WSJ No. 33 (1993/07/20) — Son Gohan is going all out with his Kamehame-Ha!
During its debut week, the tournament preliminaries started in-story and expectations about him were raised.
Goku redraw :D
I relied on using Toriyama's work a bit too much here but it's fine I guess

@tfwPhoebe Tamura's and Kishimoto's are my favorites personally.
More than just doing a redraw they are continuing the "story" told by Toriyama's original cover which I think is a smart way to do it.
Toriyama's original Cover Illustration contribution for WSJ No. 31 (1990/07/03) containing Dragon Ball's 281st chapter — Son Goku gestures the "Peace" sign he was known for as a youngster with a smile alongside the Jump crew
I know I'm really late to this party, but it took some time to learn Toriyama's art style.
Happy belated 35th, Dragon Quest!

Toriyama's original title page illustration for Dragon Ball's 75th chapter within WSJ No. 25 (1986/05/20) — Finding themselves at the ocean's bottom to secure a Dragon Ball before Blue, Dragon Team faces off against a pirate robot (even the fleesome Bulma is ready to fight back!)
Toriyama's original Cover Illustration for WSJ No. 36-37 (1991/08/13) — The magazine is celebrating 6.15 million copies sold in this issue containing the 337th chapter (which also introduces No. 19 & No. 20 into the fray, the antagonists Son Goku is surely flying after)
@Adger_love @ItsCrettoWaR @BergamoPosteo Don't get me wrong, it's just the STYLE of the Buu/style used by the yuya don't fit with DB. I just got tired of seeing the same frown on all characters with the same inexpressive face everyday. Goku look's like a horse, in Toriyama's version seems much more expressive.
