A Yokai a Day 18: Waniguchi(鰐口)
They are what shrine gongs become if it's carefully preserved and maintained. That's how a majority of tsukumogami, like this one, came to be. Its namesake and form might have been the gong itself resembling a crocodile's mouth.

They are Tsukumogami lacquered wooden clogs worn by Shinto priests. It's strange to see them paired with Kutsusura, rather than another Asagutsu.
In hyakki yagyo they appear near the Tsukumogami, so they could be object monsters..? - Kanazuchibo appears solo sometimes likes he’s anticipating a hit, but he’s rarely shown striking.. so its said he could be a spirit of hesitation or cowardice! - Okka is baby talk for obake!
