Hahakigami is a broom tsukumogami yokai. In ancient Japan brooms were used to sweep out evil spirits from the home and even after becoming a yokai the Hahakigami continues to sweep out the spirits. #mythologymonday
La Comic Piatto es una revista josei especializada en mangas de cocina. En el núm8 viene en portada 'Tsukumogami-sama to Itadakimasu' de Hanmi Itoyoshi. Queremos destacar 'Boku to Otōto no Halal Gohan' de Misuji Yamamoto y 'Shirokuma Yakuza to Akujiki Hime' Hyōgo Kijima.
If uncared for household objects acquired a spirit and became Tsukumogami then our landline phone would be seriously grumpy by now. Monday #MythicalMashup Tsukumogami + an object near you every day @StudioTeaBreak
A Yokai a day 30: Hahakigami(箒神)

Yokaitober Day 28: Suzuhiko-hime
We're in the home stretch. Just a few days left. Suzuhiko-hime is a tsukumogami type youkai, which is a tool transformed into a youkai. Specifically, this youkai is a kagurasuzu, bells for rituals.

A Yokai a Day 18: Waniguchi(鰐口)
They are what shrine gongs become if it's carefully preserved and maintained. That's how a majority of tsukumogami, like this one, came to be. Its namesake and form might have been the gong itself resembling a crocodile's mouth.
Yokaitober Day 18: Chouchin-obake
A paper lantern yokai. They are like other tsukumogami in that they mostly surprise people rather than harm them. In fact, they are very similar to kasa-obake.

A Yokai a Day 14: Furuogi (古扇)
They are old folding fan tsukumogami. Not much description, but they show up a lot in yokai scrolls.

Day 8: Kasa-Obake ✨
Kasumi was once an old umbrella who obtained a yokai form after years of sitting torn and broken apart. She now lives a renewed life as a tsukumogami and spends her time tending to her local gardens.

A Yokai a Day 7: Ungaikyo(雲外鏡)
Can sometimes be a mirror that can trap spirits, or a tsukumogami that reveals hidden supernatural beings. They're known to alter the reflections of people, and give them a nasty surprise! Either that or the person is actually possessed!
#KnownMonster 227 Tsukumogami Level62 Ungaikyou
A monster whose mirror has been altered over the years.
The mirrored surface reflects various suspicious objects to mislead people.
It is the opposite of "Syoumakyou", which exorcises evil and reflects the truth.
When objects get very old, they can acquire a spirit and become yokai called Tsukumogami. It can happen to all kinds of things like tools, musical instruments, household goods, and kitchen implements like this rice cooker by our own @lilita_yaya #FolkloreThursday
Been watching some classic 1960’s Japanese ‘horror’ movies lately. A little inspiration for these three yokai/tsukumogami vector illustrations I finished on stream over the weekend 😀 #kasa #chochin #boroboroton
Asagutsu
They are Tsukumogami lacquered wooden clogs worn by Shinto priests. It's strange to see them paired with Kutsusura, rather than another Asagutsu.
In hyakki yagyo they appear near the Tsukumogami, so they could be object monsters..? - Kanazuchibo appears solo sometimes likes he’s anticipating a hit, but he’s rarely shown striking.. so its said he could be a spirit of hesitation or cowardice! - Okka is baby talk for obake!

Tsukumogami : An umbrella term for tools or household objects that, after their 100th birthday gain a soul.
They're depicted as friendly, but tools that were thrown away or misused are thought to become vengeful toward previous owners.
