Last thing for 2020. To be honest, I originally didn't have a pink rimlight on her, but it just kind of happened XD. I wanted to do something a bit ambitious before the year's end and I guess here it is. Happy New Year's guys!

The main "change" is the way the rimlight changes environmental lighting. In direct lighting it goes from top to bottom to fake sky and ground reflecting light, while in a shaded area it goes sideways instead to help distinguish objects. ;w;

Aw yiiis, hit me with that MtG feedback. I feel like I have an idea (more painterly, more readable light source, better balance of deets vs implied deets, more dynamism + better sense of scale, avoid rimlighting?), but would love to know if that's at all accurate. Thank you!

Here are some examples of mine, idk if they help but visual stuff helps me haha

For the edge of the fellas in 1st I used overlay layers, + for the knife it was overlay + add layers, techno has a white rimlight + overlay airbrush around edges, particle effects can help too!

Okay! Further refinement! Removed the outline and I love the result! Brought back the geometry on the mouth for more nuanced expressions. Eyes, ears and nose remain as grease pencil. New shader set up = tasty rimlight! Love the result!
