this was the original shading i had and it kept making me mad because i couldn't get the hip to look right so i went with dots instead.
Something I tend to have fun doing is using a limited palette that naturally has some colors that 'ramp' into each other and using that for shading. I gravitate towards it a lot on personal stuff but rarely in comms. I should make it easier for ppl to say "do my comm like that"!
From talking with Kristal, I decided to at least attempt remaking the shading so it's easier to see the comparison.
