Gloomwood doesn't recreate Thief, it recontextualizes the core stealth, movement, and atmosphere of it's most intense levels to deliver something completely unique. The sound-design is particularly superb, been a while since I stopped in my tracks just hearing a monster.

Saint Michael is one of the archangels. The archangels are not in fact of the highest order.

In total there are 9 levels of beings in the angelic hierarchy. The first three (the highest order) are the Seraphim, the Cherubim and the Thrones.

But with a lot of later ones, like Banjo Tooie or DK64, there was far less cohesion. Levels instead focused on world-specific ways to obtain the collectables, probably having to do with the worlds and the over all games just being bigger. More characters and even more playstyles.
