1) 2D in 3D in a thread. To get a good implementation, you have to first understand your art style. In our case, the 2D characters and the 3D objects are treated with the same philosophy (outlines, stylized textures, soft shading, and simple shapes). (see alt-text)

Colored in that Adeleine sketch from a while ago, and also used this to test out how I could do colored outlines. I think I think I prefer the look of the black lines, but I'd love to figure out some way to merge both. Still, overall pretty happy with how this one came out!

I do things like this...

I do my outlines on illustrator with a mouse, which is the time consuming bit and think the iPad could help with a pencil and then use photoshop for textures and colour
