I actually don't use a IPad. A Samsung Galaxy with an S Pen actually works great, Autodesk and MediBang are both free and easy to use and I've improved with my digital illustrations a lot in the past two years as a result!
I do also have a desktop pen display tablet as well. :3

Okay, this is the first painting I've done with on an iPad. Got some kinks to work out and some stuff to get used to with the interface. Years of Photoshop had me reaching for a keyboard for shortcuts every five seconds. But all in all, this is a sweet setup.
