at the time my own work was really heavily reliant on texture overlays & David's work didn't mess with those & it was so freeing to design with just smooth gradients/overlays instead. A good lesson to find projects that constrain you out of your crutches.

i was thinking real hard on what to use for comm examples when i realized i can just use joker for all 3 examples. however, when creating the flat color example, i realized how strange he looks with no gradients. hmm...

OOOLD ART. I used to draw in Adobe Illustrator a long long time ago 2012-2013 at least? I blend shapes using gradients. It was lots of fun. The newer Subscription model didn't match my hobby work flow so I stopped, but I still use the one at work.
