Armalyte was like Shadow of the Beast in the early Amiga days.. It was the game you put on to show off how awesome the C64 was. 👍 But, unlike Beast, there was some awesome underlying gameplay to keep it interesting. 😁

Championship Sprint, I feel like the had lots of these type games, not the first but it's a good one, it came with it's own track editor which was nice.

That and Tapper are two early C64 conversions that, to me, are still more fun to play than the real arcade game.
(IIRC, the instructions for Spy Hunter even mentioned how to wire up a button to the other joystick port for secondary weapons.)

After playing C64 "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego", naturally, I had to try the Amiga one next. It's a beautiful illustration of just how much more capable the machine is, and how well this game works with a mouse to select items. Not to mention the digitised sound-fx. 👍

I'm a teeny bit disappointed that the monsters appear to be quick-and-dirty monochrome conversions of the C64 sprites. I little bit of work to smooth the 2x wide pixels would have been nice. But hey, they've done a good job overall, so I can't complain too much. 😁

One Man and His Droid was one that I put a *lot* of time into on the C64. 🤔 The C64 version looked a whole lot like the ZX Spectrum version, but had some great SID sound-fx, combined with a foot-tappingly-good Rob Hubbard soundtrack.
