Today in Comics History: Stephan Pastis’s brilliantly acerbic “Pearls Before Swine” first appeared 20 years ago, on December 30, 2001. The debut strip (which includes homages to a couple of strips that influenced him):

Just heard one of my favorite painters, Wayne Thiebaud, has died. He lived to be 101 which is nuts. His work’s really simple but it influenced me a lot, in terms of color and shading I think.
@jonrob5000 Have you ever seen 'Punks the Comic' by @JoshFialkov and Cody Chamberlain? Surreal collage art, and massively influenced by The Young Ones.
@Rob_Regis Realizing my last practice pieces may have been heavily influenced. The house pupil motiph Queens so well in VR though
I can't make'm cock-eyed this way 👏🏽😂
I want to pay homage to some of the games that inspired me growing up and really influenced me in a big way. Here's four color palette references to four arcade beat-em-ups I put a bunch of quarters into growing up. Can you name all four sets? #gamedev

Illustration assignment for something along the lines of "hidden dangers in foods." I remember being highly influenced by Joe Sorren and Brad Holland at the time.
@candlebury After seeing your art on the Stellaris subreddit, I decided to finally make myself a twitter to find other artists. Your lineart is just too good, and the way you draw faces has really influenced my style. Really good stuff.

Pathfinder Monsters of Myth is now out! I was excited to contribute two monsters that were fun design challenges and drew on parts of my background: Tehialai, a Hawaiian-influenced mantis shrimp that steals ships, and Taljjae, a dancing spirit inspired by Korean hahoetal masks!
#CreatingWithASD hi!!! autism has influenced my life in many ways. hopefully through my art and writing, i can challenge stereotypes about autistic people. i love drawing cute girls most of all!
@SkkortySoup Consider me influenced, I’ve been tinkering with this for two days (I’m glad we agree on him having a mane of curly/wavy hair)
