Fiddled around with color schemes. so I fiddled around. I wanted to do gold freckles and markings, and have the freckles sort of glow. she looked better with a darker skin tone. made the gold sort of pop.

the most i can offer for the harsh lines is light coloring and for the soft lines is basic ''toning'', ie the background is one tone and each character is a solid colorblock. this is my limits as a hobby artist whos often very tired after work, thanks for understanding!

@rosyincubus Then there’s Riesling! It’s a super tiny fairy (at 2’3”) who tries to act suave but is also hiding their identity, Riesling even had a magical skin graft which changed most of its skin from its original purple, to a more human tone. It likes to chew/gnaw on wooden chew toys!
@threepumpsooh YEAH, seriously! It really is so frustrating that riot tends to whitewash yone this way, because some of Yone’s early concepts portray him with a tanner skin tone somewhat closer to his LoR appearance. I think the warm skin suits him and his design really well, wish they kept it

@VermillionWorks I was checking my comic to see what I use and I tend to do different things depending on the tone of the scene. Sometimes I might just do a couple words above someone's head or in the last panel I included images the main character was seeing in her mind too.
