Is there a name for the aesthetic visual center mass that these games (or art) embodies?
I'm thinking desaturated, kind of Moebius inspired 90s/00s Japanese fantasy art best embodied in games of that era:
-Panzer Dragoon
-Gun Valkyrie
-Ryuichi Kutsuzawa
-Phantom Dust

One thing I do with my art is chase the work of my heroes. Silver Surfer: Parable was my first Moebius comic, and I always loved the way it ended with the camera pulling out into Earth’s orbit. In my mind, I’m doing a reverse homage here, down to reusing the same color palette:

Found out GV pronounces Moebius as "Mebius" in Japanese and let's just say my mind is now at a constant war when thinking abt who to associate this fetus with dear god

Kayfabetober Day 3, Moebius. Not his characters or anything, just what came out when I was thinking about his work, especially the interesting crystal shapes he would draw

Half you guys already know him but for everyone else you'll wish you had heard of him years ago- it's Sergio Toppi for

his art is amazing but he also forged his own path. I love that he does original work & occasionally does work for big 2 but when he does it's his way.
Moebius, one of the most creative forces ever. I love that he would also change up his style project to project.

How interesting. Thanks Mark. Links nicely to Moebius’ work on picturebooks. He calls a similar effect ‘diminishing returns’
