I'll be blunt: HAVE SOME HOPE IN YOUR STORY.

Even these have hope in them.

If a noble dark story can have hope? Then your story can too. "Gritty Realism" doesn't have to equal Nihilism.

I can totally see her as the "gritty cop with a heart of gold" archetype

This episode in general and a cool shot like this in particular I reflects what people remember about 80s mecha even if the shows themselves were far from "gritty military dramas."

Like you can pretend for a tiny moment Dorvack is about guys like this.

is a Bristol-based illustrator whose personal style champions witty playfulness, supported by the elegance of geometry and clean black linework. Lewis’ work can be identified through his use of bright colour palettes, gridded compositions and gritty textures 🙂

A few more adjustments, added a bit of gritty texture in the rocks, and a faint halftone texture over everything, cause it looks cool :P

My guy, JoJo has been around since the 80's and Devilman has existed since the 70's. Gritty Shonen's have always existed.

I've been working for ages on this piece for and it is finally done! While it's under NDA, I was allowed to share this crop to entice you to read "The Sting of Victory", the very gay and gritty novel this art is for.

This guy right here. I'd keep some elements from the gritty DC comic (a gay playwright) but lighten the mood. Make him an aspiring playwright who wants to have his masterpiece plays on stage where they belong, but he's always foiled by one thing or another.

Hmm... well Elizabeth is my teaches so she's naturally number two. Laura has nice vibes, sweet, innocent, likely in tune with the world around her, and... then I suppose Alphonse. I bet that he searches the nitty gritty supernatural underworld. But of course... I'm number one!
