Day 751 #ArtKicksCovid19 “Young Girl Reading” (1769 ) Jean-Honoré Fragonard. @ngadc French artist Fragonard was born on this day in 1732. He painted a group of works known as his fantasy figures: showing individual models in fancy dress using loose brushwork and bright colours.

'The Print Maker.' (c1860) Honoré Daumier's career was one of the most unusual in the history of 19thC art. Famous in his time as France's best-known caricaturist and one of the period's most profoundly original realists, he remained unrecognised in his importance.
Rest day sketch of one of my caricature heroes Honoré Daumier. Years ago we visited the Musée D’Orsay & the municipal workers were on strike so refused to take our entrance fee. I saw his amazing caricature sculptures for free. @SGFADrawing @procartoonists @Cartoonmuseumuk

It’s possible that he knew of this mixture, made from resin from the latch tree through his cousin, the similarly named Jean-Honoré Fragonard, painter of hedonistic rococo works

@framboise23O2 #art
