Day 978: Lake shore! Tonight's result was late, but fun again. I really do actually enjoy doing these. Breaking down and simplifying these shapes really make me think, and it definitely can really show the power of value. I'm excited to keep doing more of these so I can improve!

By Dietrich (Ex)...
The owner want me to draw her more paler than human being, since she is a manifestation of winter itself. Simplify, let we just compare her as "Ice Queen''.

It doesn't matter how much I wanna simplify stuff... is kinda more cplicated (?) BUT I'M NOT CHANGING MY OPINION (?) even if the original idea wasn't like this (?)

Here are some original sketches I did for this. I wanted to do overly constructed sketches so I could see what to simplify. Cleaning out art files and figured I may as well post these before it goes in storage forever.

Budgie is probably gonna be one of the more complex pins I've made, but simplifying their cool patterns is sorta on the difficult side. :')

I am an old-school artist-illustrator, and I do 99% of my art by hand. I usually draw and paint images slightly more realistically before simplifying them as illustrations. Note 2 paintings that appear again in an illustration

When I develop a character for a picture book, I begin with a realistic pencil drawing, and I gradually simplify that drawing and make it more child-friendly & fun.

Is there a design shortcut for indicating "no, they don't shave their legs" without spending ages drawing single hairs, or making them look really fuzzy?

I hate how much attention it draws, both when I draw it in, and when I leave it out. Body hair just doesn't simplify well.

A little preview of something I'm prepping for an upcoming convention. This is the first time I'm drawing characters and their hero outfits are a chore to simplify 💦

Who is your favorite character? Who do I definitely have to include?
