The trickiest part of environment design is I never know where to start. But since I Iike doing thumbnails I decided to base compositions and structures on real buildings. It makes idea generation a ton faster for me!

When drawing city maps, the chosen style for buildings makes a HUGE difference to how long it takes! Each one is a separate process step for EVERY building: 1 outline, 3 colour fill, 4 detail ink, 5 colour pickout, 6 highlight, 7 shadow, 8 texture.

Inspired by and encouraged by other artists i made some lil folks out of spaceship sprite generator! 10/10 suggested had a lot of fun. It has been a while since I did digital and textured something.
The vertical symmetry option makes some cool buildings and portals.
