Good evening everyone! Tonight’s prehistoric mammal of the day is the chalicothere! Chalicotheres lived during the Pleistocene. They grew to 8.5 feet tall. They have been found in North America, Eurasia, and Africa. See you explorers tomorrow!🤠

Day 2: Centaur✨ Personally, horses are just as boring to me as any other barnyard animal, so I decided this gal would be a chalicothere variant. If you didn’t already know, chalicotheres were horse relatives that had huge arms and claws and walked on their knuckles like gorillas

So last night I was wondering: what sorts of prehistoric animal do we know that were just sort of Their Own Thing? Like, not just "big horse" or "rhino but with fur". It's a vague question, but I was curious.

Anyway, that's how I found out about the Chalicotheres
