Yeah, Chalicotheres & Brontotheres are both closer to horses than to other perissodactyls (despite the latter’s resemblance). Both appeared around the Eocene (56-33.9), but chalicotheres lived until the early Pleistocene while brontotheres appeared and died in that entirety.

Got post blocked on Facebook for calling a Chalicothere a Horse Monkey which besides not being a slur is 100% an accurate description. Are you going to look at this and say it isn’t a Horse Monkey?

Ancylotherium

A 2 meter chalicothere, it was a lot more goat like than the rest of its family, but still had claws on its limbs

ALT: older reconstructions would make it look more like other members of its family, specifically in the stance with some even having it knuckle walk
