Though not always faceless, Gelatin People often seem as representations of different roles in relationships.

When relaxed Ollie's more a thick liquid, but when they shift into their more familiar upright form they're more like gelatin. I imagine it being like flexing a muscle for them so it does take a sort of low key, constant effort to hold that form.
