Did you know that Snow White was modeled after an Icelandic-Canadian waitress in a Winnipeg cafe? Her name was Kristín Sölvadóttir. Cartoonist Charlie Thorson had a crush on her and used to sketch her while he drank his coffee. He used the sketches when he went to work at Disney.

7 years ago on a tiny Danish island, I saw an icelandic horse SO captivating in appereance that all I saw before me was a Unicorn. The image didn't leave my mind until I FINALLY brought it to paper this year. 🥰💖
Merry Christmas everyone! 🦄❄️💫✨

I found this poster in an Icelandic hostel. I'm guessing the tourists are ripe for the picking ?

Going to do something proper when I'm home 🤟

In Icelandic lore dating back to the 1300s, Gryla is a Christmas Witch who eats naughty children on Christmas!

Terrifying, I know. But it isn’t the only Christmas Witch out there! Learn more about them! https://t.co/SVdnC57Dvs

Unlike other Christmas figures like Santa & Krampus, the Yule Cat doesn’t care about your misdeeds.

Your only insurance against being torn apart & eaten by this Icelandic feline is receiving an article of new clothing for Christmas.

Jólakötturinn, The Icelandic Yule Cat, was a tale told by farmers to get their workers to finish harvesting wool before Christmas. This Cat is huge and stalks the countryside seeking the idle, or those who did not receive gifts of new clothing on Christmas Eve.
