Some of the things I discussed on the Problem History of Speculative Fictions panel from last night includes Alan Moore's deconstruction of Harry Potter in League Century, Moorcock's essay Starship Stormtroopers, Spinrad's Iron Dream, and Lovecraft's 1937 letter. https://t.co/ilNg9LzdDG

I just recently learned that all Moorcock’s paperbacks in Japan were illustrated by Amano Yoshitaku, who was selected to illustrate all of the final fantasy cover art due to it. I was shocked to learn about Moorcock’s huge influence on the creators of Final Fantasy :)

Ever wondered where historical Cimmerians lived? Look it up.😏

Space is infinite, it is dark
Space is neutral, it is cold
Stars occupy minute areas of space
They are clustered a few billion here
And a few billion there
As if seeking consolation in numbers.

Just read tome 1 of ELRIC by Blondel, Poli, Recht & Bastide. Have only a passing acquaintance with Moorcock’s hero, but this was phenomenal. Boasts a grandiose scope, and a dark, unearthly aesthetic reminiscent of Clive Barker.
