"Theropods, including T. rex, had lips that covered their teeth, leaving them looking more like modern Komodo dragons than crocodiles."

Paleo-artistas e entusiastas!
O que vocês acham sobre um artistas que fazem um padrão de cor para um animal e sempre quando for representarem o mesmo animal, deixarem na mesma cor?

Eu acho bacana, para os leigos reconhecerem rapidamente.

Glad to have finally gotten around to getting this one wrapped up within the limited time that I had before more commission work resumes. This guy was in my plans for a while and it feels great to have yet another paleo piece added to the roster.

Just like normal paleoart, were super close to the true animal in some cases (right whale) whilst others are still in need of studying (rhinoceros)
I like to call this little art exercise “modern yesterday’s”

All yesterday’s asks “what if we reconstructed modern animals like 1900’s paleoartists?” With some pretty cool results.
But what if we reconstructed modern animals like 2020’s paleoartists?

Can't remember if this idea has been done before, it's a sphaerocone ammonite with a speculative pair of tentacles that tear off easily, used as distraction for predators.

When you're herding animals the sized of tanks, it pays to have a trusty steed that can take a hit or two. Megacerops joins Paleoduel!

Paisagem do período Permiano. Dois machos Dimetrodon repousam enquanto uma fêmea acaba de garantir o seu jantar, um Diplocaulus. Ao fundo, um par de Edaphosaurus caminha com tranquilidade.

A thought hit me today:
Asking artists in the paleo community. How would you 🫵 draw a Theropod wearing high heels?

Since Theropod Dinosaurs with the exception of Therizinosaurs are digitigrade, so they walk on their toes and their heels don't touch the ground.

As you peeps may have noticed, I'm the one behind the Ichthyovenator!

Our zoo's resident Ichthys are named Wendy and Athena. You'll be seeing more of these semiaquatic gals on the page and in the art book itself when it's out. Stay tuned. 🐉🌊
