Great choice of text. Had it ready to share this eve. So many quality texts to explore shape, space and measure.
Love the link to positional vocabulary in picturebooks. Always trying to negate the ‘that bit’ or ‘there!’ 👍🏼

Here is my annual tweet to Alexis Deacon.

Dear Alexis Deacon,

Please never stop writing and/or illustrating picturebooks. Or, as
a compromise, when you've finished the Geis graphic novels, please can you write one for younger readers too.

With thanks and best wishes,

Mat

I will always recommend Wolves by Emily Gravett. One of my absolute favourite picturebooks. Text is non-fiction, pictures tell story. It’s utterly brilliant. (Obviously Mammals, carnivores, herbivores)

One of my favourite picturebooks. Words & pictures tell a different story in this darkly humorous tale of The Annual Woodland Creatures' Ball.

Thank you for the review copy.
