Day 11: Honorable mention. Zero Two and her lifelong obsession with sweet things.

D10II: I cannot confirm whether advanced Monstrum & Malfeasance units have car-sized, Gyve-fueled artifice armor suits... or if the Amagium has battalions of said units ferreted away in case of magical war... But if they did, they might look like these bois here.

D10: This prompt is kind of samey, so here are some mechaesthetics I adore—OTHER than Gundam:

1. Magitek Armor: Fantasy Steampunk (FFVI)
2. Arm Slaves: Military Future (Full Metal Panic)
3. Eva Units: Horror/Biological (Neon Genesis Evangelion)

Name others you like!

Day 8: DESIGNATED NEWTYPE
Do you have a favorite mecha pilot? Select a character from your to put in a mech cockpit.

D7: I've got a lot of faves:

Nekomata: Many-tailed necromancer cat.

Kasa Obake: Immobilizing umbrella ghost.

Okiku: A murdered maiden with a neck made out of plates.

Kappa: prankster lizard-turtles with water bowl pates.

Japanese horror be delightfully weird!

D5II: Induced chimeras are created by magical rituals and experimentation that is ethically dubious at its absolute sunniest, following the examples set by Fullmetal Alchemist. (Souls are the problem, but I'm not going into the nitty-gritty unless people are curious.)

Not really what I enjoy watching, I prefer screwball *moments* more than a whole series. Though "The Irresponsible Captain Tyler" and "Tenchi Muyo" probably comes the closest.

Self-depreciating, dry, sarcasm.

But I love all sorts of humour in anime and, due to the medium, does gentle slapstick style *very* well. Some humour moments in my writing *would* translate to anime, but probably not most.

One of my favs is Rune Soldier

D29: Going with Naruto again, which probably has the most overblown illusion magic of any anime I encountered. From Mangekyō Sharingan shenanigans to the Infinite Tsukuyomi, genjutsu is no fucking joke.

Mahou Sensei Negima is *filled* with moments like that - don't suppose a whole anime counts as a moment? ;-)

Unexpectedly, considering the set-up, yes. It's the only way to reach the highest levels of battle *power* in the WIP.

D12: Like I will always have a soft spot for Okabe Rintaro, AKA Okarin, AKA Hououin Kyouma (cue mad laughter). His science abilities aren’t actually on par with Kurisu’s grasp of theoretical physics (or even Daru’s coding prowess) but…

D10II: And for all of its other moral quandaries and meditations, Parasyte is absolutely about adolescence giving way to adulthood. Series covers everything from awkward boners to slaying alien serial killers. All your standard coming of age stuff.

D6: I would go with Senku Ishigami from Dr. Stone, and Bulma Briefs from DragonBall. Senku is precocious, patient, honest, and takes no shit. Bulma seems like a bubbly bimbo, but she has plenty of experience with violent aliens and she’s a tech prodigy.

In the WIP, the greatest gift given is the MC finding a friend, the second best, to survive and get to explore the stars (normally Ike's not the gift giving type, so that probably exhausted him lol)

D28II: And I know I keep beating the fucking Rio Futaba drum, but she has a real rough go of it, finding the strength to confess, even though she knows her guy doesn't feel the same. Seriously though. Watch Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunnygirl Senpai. It's so good.

D25III: Saki Hanajima and Arisa Uotani from Fruits Basket deserve a shout out. Tohru is sweet, but goddamn; without Goth Wave Girl and the Yankee Gangsta? It wouldn't be pretty. They're also wonderfully flavorful additions to the cast. (SakiIsBestGirlFiteMe)

D25: Surprising number of contenders for this one! Homare Koiwai, who uses a number of clever stratagems to set up the lead couple, including going on a date with Moriko to motivate Yuuta’s meek ass, and acting lascivious to draw out his concern. Next level play.

D24: I thought “this won’t end well,” literally every time Shinji met a female character in NGE whether the context is romantic or not. But I think the winner for “Worst Couple, Oh God, End It Now,” goes to Kira and Flay from Gundam SEED. Like. Look at her face. FFS!

D20: Shōko's attempt to confess to Shōya in Koe no Kotachi (A Silent Voice) will break my heart every time I see it. Normally, I would agree this kind of teasing is annoying, but here it's instrumental to the plot. Film would be too neat and easy if he understood her.

No fav, but Musekinin Kanchou Tylor has some of the craziest space battle scenes you've ever seen (emphasis on crazy lol).

WIP wise, the most epic one is the final battle deciding the fate of humanity. Very Veritech fighters vs big ships-ish in feel.
