Aldeburgh's coastline in Suffolk is notoriously treacherous & on Dec 7 1899 a ship ran aground. Survivor Augustus Mann attributed his luck to 3 acorns he had in his pocket. 100 years after the tragedy volunteers of the lifeboat were given silver acorn charms.

So stage 3 of this progressed portrait. More depth and detail. Starting to look quite strong. The subject matter requires strong and bold strokes. And now adding a lifeboat returning home.

On Thursday 10 staff from our area team undertook a night walk on the They started at Southwold at midnight & ended in Aldeburgh for breakfast.

The 18 mile route was beautiful and the walkers were treated to clear skies and a beautiful solstice sunrise
