The Vale of Wales, Chapter 12, Page 16; Every now and then, I like to add Chapter 1's characters, like Cari and Gwen here, to scenes in later chapters; just a couple little reminders of who Amanda was and might still be if she hadn't answered the call to Annwn in the first place.

Just realized that even though Nightcrawler and Meggan evoke fairy elements, technically Brian is the fairy in "Excalibur." The Welsh/Brythonic term for Fairyland is Annwn, "The Otherworld." Brian's father is from Otherworld, so Brian is half-fairy.

Considering that Annwn's a Celtic region, naturally it has its Samhain traditions. But once upon an All Hallow's Eve, Amanda convinced Lili, to take a disguise & enjoy a modern Halloween w/ her. Hopefully, w/ Lili around, Spooks are less likely to mess w/ her

In the spectral - Hounds of Hell - prowl during the hours of darkness collecting the souls of the damned ...... their eerie howls are loud in the distance, but get ever quieter the closer they get to their prey.

The colours of the Welsh fairyland, Annwn, are white and gold. As a result, fairies generally have pale skin, blond hair, and pale yellow eyes. Someone born in Wales with such features was often mistrusted, suspected of being secretly a fairy changeling

Made a minor lore change and now Miss Cú Annwn is the most powerful character in my universe, dethroning Willow lol. Also a character inspo for your viewing

Annwn, a "traveling hunter," in her own words. Betraying her affability, she is still veritably a hellhound; during her stay in any town, at least one member of its populace will die unnaturally and inexplicably. She will always evade accusations of her involvement with a smile.

The Vale of Wales, Ch 10, Pg 38; Chwennych is a Welsh term meaning 'to covet or long for'. In Welsh folklore, there are instances of Fae taking humans & keeping them for long periods of time. In VOW, it's a concept taught in Annwn's schooling, even after the May Day Scandal.

The Vale of Wales, Ch 10, Pg 29; Elen of the Hosts or Elen Luyddog or Saint Helen's from the Welsh legend 'The Dream of Macsen Wledig'; She's the beloved of a Roman Emperor & saw to the building of many British roads. In VOW, she's adapted to Annwn & repaves its paths every year.

The Vale of Wales, Ch 10 Pg 28; Here comes Cernunnos aka the Green Man, aka Hu Gadarn heralding Beltane's annual repaving of Annwn's pathways. In legend, he introduced ploughing to Wales. In VOW, he's Annwn's Guardian Spirit of non-speaking animals, during the rest of the year.

The Cŵn Annwn were the spectral dogs of the Welsh otherworld. Associated with the wild hunt and both King Arawn and the psychopomp Gwyn ap Nudd. The howling of these hounds foretold death to anyone who heard them.

In Wales Cŵn Annwn, the 'Dogs of Annwm', Lord of the Underworld, hunt the souls of the dead across the sky. According to tradition the howling of these dogs foretold death to anyone who heard them.

The Vale of Wales, Chapter 9, Page 42. I think one day when VOW is finished, I'll reveal the full sized versions of each Royals and Guardians' tapestries. Each of Annwn's leaders are integral to its upkeep, including relevant details, like its ecosystems and music.
