A closer relative to Embolo would be Aktautitan, who forms a sister group to Embolo and its relatives. This animal is known from very complete individuals preserved mired, with much stockier limbs then other brontotheres, resembling hippos, Toxodon or Teleoceras

There's 2 taxa that might make good references for Embolo. One is Rhinotitan, a tall browser from the mid Eocene of China. This probably represents the common ancestor to both groups of derived brontotheres that crossed over from Asia to NA
