Take a bookie stroll as we head to #EmpathyDay in June
We’ve selected a few of our titles to make #storytime stops on the way, Books for Empathy Walks: https://t.co/N7c3CDVAfp

#EmpathyDay is only a couple of weeks away. We're currently finalising our plans, which include talking with volunteers from @TrussellTrust and using the book It's A No-Money Day by @ABagForKatie. Do sign up and get involved in this important event. https://t.co/hU3LVggukP

When the Sky Falls by @philearle Never thought I’d fall in love with an angry child and a Silverback Gorilla but I did. The book taught me much about animal/human bonds & how children can hide pain in anger til love finds the right key. #EmpathyDay2021
Happy Empathy Day! When children read & identify with the feelings of book characters, the more children understand how people work & understand worlds outside of their own. More empathy = happier children & a better world. @EmpathyLabUK #ReadforEmpathy #EmpathyDay #parent #read
It is so important that our stories don't just reach the children who can relate to the lived experiences of characters, but to all children, enabling them to empathise with peers from all walks of life #empathyday2021 #empathyday @empathylabuk
Right now we’ve never needed empathy more, that's why I'm so pleased to be part of #EmpathyDay.

We have definitely shared this story before, but it is one of our favourites and is perfect for #EmpathyDay because even librarians need to remember to be empathetic to the people who visit our libraries, even lions.

It's hard enough trying to make sense of people as an adult, imagine how difficult it is for a 5 year old! #EmpathyDay is today. We react much better to difficult situations when we try to understand the reasons behind them. #illustration detail from "The Peg People" #kidlit
