it honestly makes me so sad to see that people CONSTANTLY put characters down that are fat or plus-sized. they are barely seen in cartoons let alone anywhere!! i hate when they completely slim them down in art like this

I stated this in another reply here: the OP used bad examples but their point stands. It may have worked 100 years ago but that symbolism is /still/ being used and is only punching down at those already hurt by capitalism. Fatphobia is rampant in political cartoons currently.

I want to clarify that i know that cancer is no joke. Unfortunately, fatphobia is so painful to experience, that it's not uncommon for people to wish they were sick rather than be fat. I don't really wish that, but the thought crept into my head still.
