110 years ago today, in 1911, Polish Nobel laureate Czesław Miłosz was born in Šeteniai, Lithuania (then Russian Empire). He died in Kraków in 2004, having lived in exile in France and California (after defecting from communist Poland). His poems bear witness to his century.
In 1991 her work was presented in a monograph. In 2008, the National Museum in Kraków organized a great retrospective exhibition of the work of Stryjeńska. In 2009, the exhibition visited the National Museum in Poznań and the National Museum in Warsaw

For day no. 2 I chose the wawel dragon from a Polish legend. (Kraków) It was told that he lives in a cave under a castle and terrorized the whole area around it until some cobbler ended the dragon's reign of terror with a trick.

Kazimierz Sichulski (1879-1942), an acclaimed painter before WW1, in 1914 joined the Polish Legions and served in 1st Artillery Regt. During his service he drew caricatures of officers. After WW1 he came back to art, in 1930 becoming a professor of Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.
