His still life paintings of vases, on the other hand, lack the hyper-critical lightsource of his work with human subjects. Its as if the weight of his hand is featherlike but sharp as a knife when he paints non-humanity.

my toxic trait is thinking two lightsources is something I can pull off already

His ass tho😩 https://t.co/Ud5sXemLaD

sorted out a block in how i was approaching this, which is nice, but why can't i stop doing things that require sorting out multiple lightsources

Day 21-22: From the depths

The golem serpents deep beneath the earth do not react friendly to being disturbed with lightsources...!

things i learned abt Yuji Uekawa's SA art:
-lines of action everywhere. character art made up of so many interlocking curves that i'm amazed it works
-lots of edge lighting to suggest volume/depth without a specific lightsource. reminds me of traditional tattoo/graffiti values

Watched stream Spyro, and they got to the level where enemies transformed if there was a lightsource. So it made me want to make an oc who transforms in the dark.

... got all this way and I still need to name him. ;=w=

What do you mean you added emission to certain materials way back to make it glowy for no reason, but forgot because you never went into rendered mode without the heavy lightsources on.

Oh well should I keep? I thimk it actually looks really cool.

leaving it unfinished, wanted to try a lightsource from behind

You ever start to color and forget about the lightsource you literally drew in

I promise to recognize you magic orb 🥲

i enjoyed these a bunch! 30ish min study of pan's labyrinth, 1 and a halfish hour study of hellboy. not a totally great likeness on the second but it was really fun painting with a blue-y lightsource.

5. Final design: I really work out lots of details and lighting. I also watch the colours of my lightsources carefully. I have three differently coloured lightsources: the sky, the red glow/fire of the army and the green eyes of the skull. That's my fav part of the whole process!

3. Colourblock: This is a really important step. Setting the mood with colours. I try to stay in shape here but it doesn't matter sooo much. Important for me is to find nice colour palettes, contrasts and the first ideas of lightsource and shadows.

Personal Art: Character art.
No, I don't know what his name is. I just made him. He's supposed to be my character's step-brother's father. Anyways, I didn't know how to render it because the lightsource is CRAZY! So... I may not have done the rendering.
