I've been trying out this sort of stylized paleo critters. Considering working on more mininal designs for using in pretty looking phylogeny trees.

Day 6 Tanystropheus
Not a dinosaur but still a very intersting animal, a living rod; nature can be very imaginative.

I've always felt that the Triassic doesn't get it's due. The long necked Tanystropheus (Long Hinged) belonged to the clade Archosauromorpha, a diverse group of ancient reptiles that were the ancestors of dinosaurs.

Secondly, I've uploaded new of Dinocephalosaurus, swimming cousin of Tanystropheus. The whole image has been uploaded in glorious high-res at Patreon: check it out at https://t.co/4dUy1xKvTp. Access to my four years of Patreon content starts at $1 a month.

Quick morning warmup sketch. Protanystropheus antiquus basking. This is one of the lesser known Tanystropheids from the Middle Triassic of Europe. It had a long neck, but much shorter than Tanystropheus. The Triassic just had the coolest animals

Tanystropheus was a 6-metre-long reptile from the Middle Triassic. Its neck was longer than its body & tail combined!

Tonight's small had not so many sketches in the end but I like them all very much. Sleepy Dimetrodon, tidal pool fishing Tanystropheus, fluffy Heterodontosaurus and a shy Acausaurus.
