Baryonyx may have lived in a semiaquatic environment with shallow water, lagoons, and marshes. It also lived and coexisted with other theropods, ornithopods, and sauropods, as well as pterosaurs, crocodiles, turtles and fishes. Art by John Sibbick.
@greensborocity @JurassicPark2go Theropods, being that most walked on two legs, typically wear their pants in the typical two-leg construction we are familiar with. They tended to choose more formal styles, suitable for business meetings.
Like the other feathered theropods, Beipiaosaurus was found preserved with melanosomes and was inferred to have had a brownish coloration. Before the discovery of Yutyrannus, Beipiaosaurus was the largest feathered dinosaur. Art by PaleoNeolitic.
38. For #TheSummerOfTheropods, here’s #Thanos, an abelisaurid that lived in Brazil during the Late Cretaceous Period. Reconstruction of Thanos based on PaleoJoe abelisaur skeletal drawings.
35. Introducing Arkansas’ State Dinosaur for #TheSummerOfTheropods, #Arkansasarus (“Arkansas lizard”) an ornithomimosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous. Art by @BrianEngh_Art
For #TheSummerOfTheropods, I’ll be introducing our first “controversial” theropod, #Saurophaganax, the “lord of lizard eaters”, a large allosauroid dinosaur from the Morrison Formation of the Late Jurassic of Oklahoma. Art by Hellraptor Studios
Our first oviraptorosaur for #TheSummerOfTheropods, #Caudipteryx (“tail feather”), a peacock-sized dinosaur from the early Cretaceous Period. Caudipteryx was feathered and remarkably birdlike in overall appearance. Art by Matt Martyniuk.
5. For #FossilFriday here’s our first #abelisaurid for #TheSummerOfTheropods, #Majungasaurus, the “Mahajanga lizard” from Madagascar of the Cretaceous period. It’s also become probably one of my favorite theropods. Artwork by @SerpenIllus
Dilophosaurus is one of the earliest known large-bodied theropods, and I sometimes forget just how big it was!
I actualy give Jurassic Park credit for their protrayal of a novel display structure. It was a noble idea, they just failed the execution by copying a living animal 1:1
Scansoriopterygids - small, tree-climbing maniraptoran #theropods, sometimes with membranous wings - are often depicted as screaming little dragons. I say that they would have looked like goofy bat-winged parrots: https://t.co/5vXTaNSJak Art by @eawilloughby & @thejohnconway.
@BertramFiddle Hello @BertramFiddle and #adventuregamefriday !
We are making Theropods, a point and click adventure set in a prehistoric world full of dinosaurs!

@jimmadseni I hate Putting bright saturated yellows, reds, and blues on theropods, especially on small horns since higher contrast works just fine and that’s probably not what they were for
I feel they were more likely used to keep sunlight out of the animals eyes like in modern predators
#DrawDinovember Day 28 #TRex. There really isn't much I can say about this Cretaceous bad boy that people don't already know. Although most experts now believe it would have been feathered like most other theropods, I went sans-feathers. #art #dailyart #digitalart #Dinovember
i.. i spent part of my day drawing some dinosaur bs. slight resdesign of my theropods, and some kinda azhdarchid
