I did this a while ago, but I ended up re-doing the lighting to draw the eye from face to hand to apple, and I think it works better! Line underdrawing included for fun 😊

Figured out the drawing and colours in Procreate first and then loosely traced the underdrawing by using my iPad as a light table. Referenced the original inking and colour by eye.

And there’s my underdrawing for the picture where the album is new. I just saved myself about an hour and fifteen minutes of fiddling around trying to get the proportions the same.
Now I can focus on working the lines of the album cover so they feel crisp and new like fresh ink.

I love that you can see the pencils peeking through in some places. I wonder if the artist just decided to leave little bits of the underdrawing, or if these were added later. Either way they work! For instance, it makes the hair feel less plastic and perfect, more natural!
